    • How much tension can a bi-metal blade handle?

      • LENOX blades are designed to handle up to 30 000PSI. Please consult your machine manual for proper setting on your machine. Over-tensioning blades can cause premature machine failure.
    • Is there a chart for picking correct number of teeth on a bi-metal blade?

      • Yes, please turn to page 22 of the LENOX Product Catalog
    • Do LENOX bi-metal blades contain Cobalt?

      • Yes, LENOX blades are made out of M42 tool steel which contains Cobalt as one of the elements that makes up the steel.
    • What is the finest tooth pitch for carbide band saw blade?

      • The finest tooth pitch is 3/4
    • Can I use carbide blades for interrupted cuts like angle and tubes?

      • No, carbide blades are very hard but not shock resistant. Bi-metal blades are far superior for interrupted cuts.
    • What grades are the carbide blades available in?

      • LENOX uses only high quality micro-grained carbide
    • How fast can I run a carbide blade?

      • Speed of a carbide blade depends on the grade of the material being cut.
    • Does carbide produce a smoother cut then bi-metal?

      • The triple chip design of the carbide teeth allows the blades to achieve far superior surface finish than bi-metal.
    • Can you use metal cutting carbide blades for wood cutting?

      • Yes, metal cutting band saw blades can be used to cut wood. Please consult Lenox Technical Support as to which blade is more suitable in your application.
    • Where do I find the proper feeds and speeds for carbide blade?

      • Please use Saw Calc program or consult LENOX Technical Support
    • Can I use a carbon blade on a friction machine?

      • No, due to the high speed of use, only friction blades can be used on friction machines.
    • Which blade do I use to cut meat?

      • LENOX does not manufacture a meat cutting blade.
    • Which LENOX blade will cut stainless steel?

      • Lenox bi-metal and carbide blades will cut steel. Successful machining of stainless steels depends on proper speeds and feed.
    • Which blade is recommended for structural steel?

      • Armor RX®+ and Rx® + are designed for optimum cutting of structual steel.
    • Do you have a general purpose blade?

      • Yes, LENOX produces a wide variety of blades designed to solve your cutting needs. Please contact Lenox Technical Support for additional assistance in selecting the right blade for your application
    • What is the Mercurization process and does it contain Mercury?

      • Mercurization is a patented, enhanced mechanical design that promotes more efficient tooth penetration and chip formation to easily cut through the work hardened zone. The Mercurize symbol denotes any product that can be Mercurized TM. Consult your Lenox Technical Support to determine if Mercurization will benefit your operation.
    • What does EHS mean?

      • EHS stands for Extra Heavy Set designed for Rx®+ blades. This design prevents pinching when cutting heavy walled structual material.
    • Which blade is good for cutting induction hardened materials?

      • LENOX Master Grit and HRC blades are specifically designed to cut induction hardened material. Please consult LENOX Technical Support for advice as to which blade is more suitable in your application.

    • Can you use sawing fluids like Band-Ade and SawMaster in a misting unit?

      • No, Band-Ade and SawMaster are designed for flood application and not to be used in air propelled units.
    • Can you dilute LENOX Lube and C/AL with water?

      • LENOX Lube and C/AL should not be diluted with water.
    • Does LENOX offer a welding fluid?

      • Yes, LENOX Anti-Spatter is a non-toxic, non-expolosive welding fluid that prevents unwanted chip welding
    • What is the shelf life of a cutting fluid?

      • Cutting fluid can be used for up to one year from opening of the container.
    • What is the dilution ratio for Band-Ade and SawMaster?

      • The recommended dilution ration is 10:1
    • What is a Micronizer?

      • A Micronizer is air propelled misting unit that applies precise amounts of sawing fluids
    • Can our fluids freeze?

      • Yes
    • Can LENOX Band-Ade or SawMaster be used in CNC or cold saw machines?

      • Yes it can as long as the fluid line is not pressurized.
    • Can you mix diesel with any of our cutting fluids?

      • No.
    • Can you use LENOX fluids in a food industry?

      • No
    • Are LENOX fluids bio-degradable?

      • Yes
    • Should the surface be cleaned after using LENOX fluids and before painting?

      • Cleaning surface is always recommended before painting. Please use soap and water to remove LENOX cutting fluids of the surface.

    • What is the best blade for cutting cast iron?

      • The LENOX Diamond Blade is the ultimate for cutting cast iron.
    • Do you make a non-sparking recip blade?

      • No, cutting metal involves metal rubbing on metal which produces sparks as a byproduct. This cannot be avoided.
